The cattle

Our cattle love their home. From about April to about November they graze on native Texas Bahia grass and planted coastal Bermuda grass. From about November to about May they graze on planted winter wheat and rye grasses and they eat coastal Bermuda hay.

They drink from spring-fed ponds that are maintained to benefit the health of the ponds and the health of the herd.

We wean our calves gradually and when it is time, not abruptly and too soon. Our weaning processes minimize stress on the calf and on the momma.

We work the cattle slowly, calmly and with the cattle’s (and our) safety given the highest priority.

Our cattle are supplemented with all-natural feeds proudly produced in Texas.

We offer gentle, productive, drama-free replacement heifers for sale. These heifers were born on the Bar-A, they were raised, worked and weaned per approved and audited GAP procedures.
